Of course in the challenge to an elder about how nothing in the book is 'secret' and 'all in the publications' ...
you have to let on that you have read the secret book and know they are either lying or misinformed!

Reduced Magazines Etc: Scenario Thinking
by metatron inforgive me for creating this thread but i believe there are aspects of watchtower downsizing that have not been fully understood or 'fleshed out'.. for example: you have a publishing company whose main source of revenues are book and magazine production and sales.
their international presence is supported by the profits they make on these.
so far, so good.... overtime, their products fail to sell.

These are my thoughts...
The Corporation no longer needs the religion as a product to generate profit. It still does, but maybe not as much as it once did...
It probably makes far more in all its investments and real estate deals.
If the product no longer makes enough to justify speding too much cash on it, company's downsize enough to contain the bleed off and maintain a semblance of status quo. The WT still needs the religion product to keep the tax free con going. Thats one thing McDonalds don't have going for them!

by still thinking ini have a friend, she has been my friend for over 20 years...in that 20 years i have seen her reasonably regularly.
i visit her, she visits me.. the thing that has started bugging me is this...... when i visit her it is normally in the daytime.
i stop in for a cuppa and a chat.

Perhaps if you dont want to re train her, you can look for some balancing aspect of the friendship...
what does she 'give' to the relationship that you dont give to her?
maybe she gets food and friendship and you get support in other things?
maybe if you do like the friendship it's not really worth messing with...

5/15 WT - WT Society Displays Condescending Attitude towards Marriage
by flipper inas most of us know the wt society has always claimed that it's dissapproved in god's sight to marry a non-jw .
although they've never made it a disfellowshipping offense, any jw who marries outside the jw organization is looked at as " weak " or lacking " spirituality " and loses certain alleged " privileges " in the congregations.
they use scriptures in the old testament as support for this.
